COUNCIL WORK SESSION
September 6, 2007

Members present: Mayor Hurley, Welper, Gunderson, Getty, Cole, Schmitt, Greenwood.
Members absent: Kincaid.
Moved by Schmitt, seconded by Welper that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes:
Five. Absent: Kincaid, Greenwood. Motion carried.
Mayor Hurley reviewed items on the Standing Committee for meetings scheduled for Monday,
September 10, 2007.
Greenwood now present at 8:03 a.m.
Mayor Hurley reviewed items on the council agenda for Monday, September 10, 2007 and the
following items were discussed.
Bill Bachman, Assistant Leisure Services Director, explained the purchase of a new 552
electric Zamboni Ice Resurfacer for Young Arena. Advertisement is placed on the Zamboni
with the Black Hawks having all rights for revenues.
Don Temeyer, Community Planning & Development Director, explained the agreement with
Craig Ritland for construction inspection services at the Waterloo Exposition Grounds at a cost
not to exceed $159,000.00. Mr. Temeyer explained that this is a large, complex contract with a
lot of items to be covered.
Councilperson Gunderson asked if the speed hump on Olympic has been painted. Sandie
Greco, Superintendent of Traffic Operations, reported it should be painted within the next
week.
With no further business before the council, it was moved by Gunderson, seconded by Cole
that the meeting be adjourned at 8:10 a.m. Ayes: Six. Absent: Kincaid. Motion carried.
