Councilperson Gunderson reviewed items on the council agenda for Tuesday, November 13,
2007 and the following items were discussed.
Paul Huting, Leisure Services Director, reported that the council will accept Request for
Proposals at the November 13, 2007 council meeting for the Waterloo Tree Inventory Project.
The RFPs will indicate to the city the cost for the tree inventory. At this time, funding has not
been identified for the project, but the city has an application for Isle of Capri funds. If we
proceed with the project, this will be a good tool and it would be layered with the GIS system.
The bid received for the Escalator Modernization at the Five Sullivan Brothers Convention
Center Project was reviewed. Councilperson Welper indicated that at last Monday's meeting,
Lou Cutwright reported that four companies were solicited for bids, but the city only received
one bid. Councilperson Welper noted that Crossroads installed their escalators at the same the
city installed the escalators at Five Sullivan Brothers Center, and Crossroads replaced those
escalators about 12 years ago.
Councilperson Gunderson noted that there is an ordinance installing yield signs on Lambeth
Road at the intersection of Cadillac Drive. At Tuesday night's meeting he will ask that the
council approve stop signs, not yield signs.
With no further business before the council, it was moved by Getty, seconded by Kincaid that the
meeting be adjourned at 8:08 a.m. Ayes: Four. Absent: Greenwood, Cole, Schmitt. Motion
carried.
