Monday, November 19, 2007.
Mayor Hurley reviewed items on the council agenda for Monday, November 19, 2007 and the
following items were discussed.
Paul Huting, Leisure Services Director, reported that the agreement with the Trail Blazer is a
new 20-year agreement, expanding the size of the area used by the Trail Blazers at the Riverview
Recreational Area. The new area will be used for parking by the Trail Blazers. The agreement
has been approved by the DNR and the Leisure Services Commission.
Mayor Hurley reviewed the eight TIF Districts, and reported that the city has to certify to the
Black Hawk County Auditor by November 30 each year the expenditures that qualify for
reimbursement.
Sandie Greco, Superintendent of Traffic Operations, reported that the no parking on Heath Street
in a northerly direction from West Donald Street to the driveway of Fire Station #3 is needed
because the fire department is having a problem with getting fire trucks into their driveway.
Councilperson Welper questioned how many hangars does the city have at the airport. Mayor
Hurley noted that the replacement of T-hangars at Waterloo Regional Airport Project has been
on the agenda several times. There were many questions on the bid documents and bidders did
not feel they had enough time to get their bids in, so the bid opening was moved two times and
now is set for Monday, November 19.
With no further business before the committee, it was moved by Getty, seconded by Greenwood
that the meeting be adjourned at 8:10 a.m. Ayes: Six. Absent: Cole. Motion carried.
