Moved by Schmitt, seconded by Greenwood that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Six. Absent: Kincaid. Motion carried. Kincaid now present at 8:02 a.m. Mayor Hurley reviewed items that have been placed on the Standing Committee agendas for Monday, February 27, 2006. Mayor Hurley reviewed items that have been placed on the Council agenda for Monday, February 27, 2006 and the following items were discussed: 1. Police Chief Tom Jennings request to proceed with collection of information and eventual purchase of 100 X-25 Tasers and related equipment at an approximate cost of $100,000.00. This does not authorize Chief Jennings to purchase the Tasers, but gather information and bring back to the council. 2. Discussion was heard on the applications the city receives for exceptions to the burning ban in order to burn prairie grass. Paul Huting, Leisure Services Director, indicated that he does review each application and inspects the area, along with a UNI employee. Fire Chief Ned DeBerg reported he does check each request and that the applicants have to follow guidelines concerning a controlled fire. 3. The request of the City Planner to amend the Zoning Ordinance as it relates to eliminating the 2 acre minimum tract size for "C-P" Planned Commercial District requests that are within the CURA or Enterprise Zone. This amendment will help with David Deeds Development. A hearing has been scheduled for March 13, 2006. With no further business before the council, it was moved by Getty, seconded by Schmitt that the meeting be adjourned at 8:17 a.m. Ayes: Seven. Motion carried. Nancy Eckert City Clerk
