Mayor Hurley reviewed the Standing Committees agenda items.
Mayor Hurley reviewed items on the September 18, 2006 council agenda. Items discussed
included:
1. The request of Shadow Creek Crossing to rezone property generally located east
of 1012 Lois Lane and north of Schukei Road for purpose of multi family
residential development. There is opposition to the rezoning, but not the required
20 percent within 250 feet of the property. The City Planner reported that 90
percent of the property is already properly zoned. They need a portion of Lois
Lane and Bethel Street for the access roads. The developer has agreed to put in
sidewalks and build condos, not apartments.
2. Awarding of the Kimball Avenue A.D.A. Pedestrian Way, Contract No. 711. The
Contract Compliance Officer has not submitted his recommendation as of today.
3. Setting the date of hearing as October 2, 2006 on the F.Y. 2007 Fire Training
Burn Pad and Burn Tower Paving Project, Contract No. 715. The Fire Chief
reported he is applying for a state grant through Hawkeye Community College to
pay for the project.
With no further business before the council, it was moved by Getty, seconded by Welper that the
meeting be adjourned at 8:18 a.m. Ayes: Five. Absent: Kincaid, Greenwood. Motion carried.
