Mayor Hurley reviewed Standing Committee agendas for meetings scheduled for Monday, November 6, 2006. Kincaid now present at 8:02 a.m. Mayor Hurley reviewed items on the council agenda for Monday, November 6, 2006 and the following items were discussed: 1. During discussion of the site plan amendment for the former Midas site, Councilperson Welper asked where does the city property end and Crossroads property begin. Eric Thorson, City Engineer, responded that both Bopp Street and Crossroads are owned by the city. The city made changes to the entrance, with the understanding that Crossroads would change the entrance into Sears Street. Mr. Thorson will talk with Crossroads and report back to the council. Noel Anderson, City Planner, reported that since Planning, Programming Commission recommended approval to the site plan amendment request, the site plan has rotated the building 90 degrees. The rotation of the building is minor in nature and can be approved with the site plan. 2. Award of bid to Porter & Porter Construction for the 2006 South Hills Pro Shop Renovation Project. Paul Huting, Leisure Services Director, reported staff and the architect met with the contractor and they feel he is capable of finishing the job. Mr. Huting noted that the architect's estimate at the public hearing was high because they had left things in the estimate that were no longer included in the bidding document. 3. The request of Stephen Clabby to vacate the 5-foot easement located along the westerly side of Lot 61 of Heartland Hills Second Addition. Don Temeyer, Planning & Development Director, reported that he is going to build a house across city lines, with 80 percent of the home lying in Waterloo. 4. The change order for work to be performed by Johnson Controls at the Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center was reviewed. Lou Cutwright, Building Official/Maintenance Administrator, reported with the equipment upgrade the dampers are working properly, and with certain wind directions it pulls the carbon monoxide back into the stacks of the boilers. This equipment will shut the dampers down automatically when this occurs. With no further business before the council, it was moved by Gunderson, seconded by Cole that the meeting be adjourned at 8:19 a.m. Ayes: Seven. Motion carried. Nancy Eckert City Clerk
