2006.
Mayor Hurley reviewed items on the council agenda for Monday, December 18, 2006 and the
following items were discussed.
The request from Don Temeyer, Community Planning & Development Director, to forgive liens
against property located at 205 Independence Avenue. The city previously accepted the
property, but there is a weed assessment on the property. In order to sell the property to a
potential buyer, the weed assessment needs to be removed. Mr. Temeyer reported that property
tax in the amount of $1,200 is owed on 210 Park Road, which the city recently acquired. Mr.
Temeyer recommended the city pay the $1,200 in taxes owed in order to get clear title to the
property and move forward on demolition.
The request of Sandie Greco, Superintendent of Traffic Operations, to install a street light at the
entrance into East San Marnan Access Road. The lighting is necessary due to the recently
completed right-in/right-out on East San Marnan Drive Access Road between Hammond Avenue
and St. Francis Drive.
Mayor Hurley reported that WDC's request for $2 million Vision Iowa funds is proceeding to
the negotiations stage. All comments have been very positive concerning the project.
With no further business before the council, it was moved by Cole, seconded by Gunderson that
the meeting be adjourned at 8:10 a.m. Ayes: Six. Absent: Getty. Motion carried.
