COUNCIL WORK SESSION
September 8, 2005

Members present: Mayor Hurley, Kincaid, Cole, Greenwood, Clark, Schmitt, Gunderson,
Welper.
Moved by Welper, seconded by Kincaid that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes:
Seven. Motion carried.
Mayor Hurley reviewed the Standing Committee agendas scheduled for Monday, September 12,
2005.
Mayor Hurley reviewed agenda items that have been placed on the council agenda for Monday,
September 12, 2005 with Department Heads who have items on the agenda.
Items discussed:
1. Proposal from Tallgrass Historian L.C. to complete an architectural/historical
resource report on the acquisition of Coca Cola Plant and Waterloo Bowl Inn sites
as part of the US 63 Reconstruction Project. The city needs to look at the
architectural design before the buildings can be demolished.
2. Don Temeyer, Community Planning and Development Director, updated the
council on the acquisition of the TruGreen Lawn Care property located at 327
West Third Street.
Councilperson Welper reported he has a request from a citizen that the portable radar sign be
placed in the 700 block of Hammond Avenue. The Police Chief will put that area on the list of
where to put the sign.
With no further business before the council, it was moved by Welper, seconded by Gunderson
that the meeting be adjourned at 8:16 a.m. Ayes: Seven. Motion carried.
