COUNCIL WORK SESSION
November 17, 2005

Members present: Mayor Hurley, Cole, Gunderson, Welper.
Members absent: Kincaid, Greenwood, Clark, Schmitt.
There was no quorum so no official minutes were taken.
Mayor Hurley reviewed the Standing Committee agendas scheduled for Monday, November 21,
2005. An executive session is scheduled to discuss labor negotiations strategy.
Mayor Hurley reviewed items on the Council Agenda of Monday, November 21, 2005 with
department heads who have items on the agenda. Items discussed included:
1. Three applications for FY06 Economic Development Initiative Special Purpose
grant funds to be used for the Cedar Valley Tech Works property acquisition and
the acquisition and demolition of the Rath Brownfields area.
2. The hearing scheduled for December 12, 2005 on the proposal to reallocate not to
exceed $200,000.00 unspent proceeds of the General Obligation Bonds, Series
2003A and General Obligation Bonds, Series 2004A to pay costs of constructing
restroom facilities and a ticket booth at Riverfront Stadium. Paul Huting, Leisure
Services Director, reported Leisure Services was the general contractor on the
project. Materials have been far in excess of what was estimated. Steel prices
have increased along with other items. If the council doesn't approve this item,
then the project will be stopped.
