COUNCIL WORK SESSION
December 15, 2005

Members present: Mayor Hurley, Kincaid, Cole, Greenwood, Schmitt, Gunderson, Welper.
Members absent: Clark.
Moved by Welper, seconded by Kincaid that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Six.
Absent: Clark. Motion carried.
Mayor Hurley reviewed Standing Committee agendas scheduled for Monday, December 19,
2005.
Mayor Hurley reviewed items on the proposed council agenda for Monday, December 19, 2005.
Items discussed included:
1. Agreement with Iowa Department of Transportation for a National Recreational Trails
grant in the amount of $28,958.64 to be used to purchase a new track loader for the
Riverview Recreation Area OHV Park. The city will provide a match of $2,887.18 and
the Iowa Department of Natural Resources will provide a match of $2,887.18. This will
be just a pass -through as the track loader will be used by the Riverview Trails
Association.
2. New Leisure Services fee of $320.00 per team for a new indoor hitting league for
baseball and softball to be held at the A & C Sports Facility.
3. Three-year lease agreement with Rydell Chevrolet to lease a pickup at a cost of $343.43
per month for the Fire PALS Program. Police Chief Tom Jennings reported the DARE
Program leases a van for $1 per year, and they lease two Harley Davidson motorcycles at
a cost of $500.00 per month from the Harley Davidson dealership.
With no further business before the council, it was moved by Welper, seconded by Gunderson
that the meeting be adjourned at 8:15 a.m. Ayes: Six. Absent: Clark. Motion carried.
