COUNCIL WORK SESSION
March 4, 2004

Council Chambers
Members present: Mayor Hurley, Kincaid, Cole, Greenwood, Clark, Schmitt, Gunderson,
Welper.
Moved by Welper, seconded by Kincaid that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Six.
Absent: Greenwood. Motion carried.
Agenda items that have been placed on the council agenda of Monday, March 8, 2004, were
discussed with Department Heads that have placed items on the agenda.
Greenwood now present at 8::06 a.m.
Standing Committee agenda items were discussed.
Council Members discussed the procedure for the budget hearing on Monday night and the
length of time given to each citizen.
Council Members discussed the agreement with WDC Properties to use the former Yen Ching
and Parrott & Wood properties in conformance with the Cedar Valley Riverfront Renaissance
Project Master Plan. The council already voted to accept the properties, and WDC is insuring
that we use the properties as set out in the Master Plan.
Council Members discussed adoption of the 2003 Edition of the International Building Code,
2003 Edition of International Residential Code for One and Two Family Dwellings and 1997
Uniform Code for Building Conservation. The ordinance is on Monday's agenda for the second
reading.
With no further business before the council, it was moved by Gunderson, seconded by
Greenwood that the meeting be adjourned at 8:16 a.m. Ayes: Seven. Motion carried.
