Moved by Gunderson, seconded by Kincaid that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Six. Motion carried. Greenwood now present at 8:01 a.m. Mayor Pro Tem Welper reviewed the Standing Committee agenda items for May 10, 2004 The following items were discussed. 1. An agreement with the Department of Homeland Security Office for Domestic Preparedness for a Competitive Training Grant to be used to expand the Regional Training Center and perform training for all organizations that respond to emergencies. This will involve a coalition from Black Hawk County, the city, Hawkeye Community College and Emergency Management. Hawkeye Community College will write the grant. The grant can be used for equipment, but not for the building. The grant is for $4 million, with no required match. 2. Two agreements with the IDOT for funding for the F.Y. 2004 Sergeant Road Trail Paving, Contract No. 668. This funding will be used to pave the bicycle trail on Sergeant Road/US. Highway 63 in joint agreement with the City of Hudson. The city will be the lead agent, with Hudson paying their share. The city is using GO Bond funds for our 20 percent match. The contract could be let in August or September and the Engineering Department hopes to pave the trail this year. Greenwood now absent at 8:21 a.m. Councilperson Welper asked Paul Huting to review the mowing of weeds on Texas Drive right- of-way by Aspro, Inc. to San Marnan Drive. The area was mowed without the litter being picked up. With no further business before the council, it was moved by Clark, seconded by Schmitt that the meeting be adjourned at 8:22 a.m. Ayes: Six.
