COUNCIL WORK SESSION
June 24, 2004

Members present: Mayor Hurley, Kincaid, Cole, Clark, Schmitt, Gunderson, Welper,
Greenwood.
Moved by Welper, seconded by Kincaid that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes:
Seven. Motion carried.
Agenda items that have been placed on the council agenda of Monday, June 28, 2004 were
reviewed with Department Heads who placed items on the agenda.
Mayor Hurley reviewed the Standing Committee agendas for Monday, June 28, 2004.
Items discussed included:
1. Change Order No. 2 for a decrease of $25,047 for the l8th Street Bridge and
Approach Roadway, Contract No. 622. The decrease is due to Mediacom only
needing three conduits instead of 4. Mediacom will pay for the conduits.
2. NCN Limited application with Iowa Department of Economic Development for
Enterprise Zone certification for the former Winterbottom Building at 25 Westfield
Avenue.
3. Development Agreement with Chuck Orr to redevelop the Haffa Building at 220-224
East 4th Street with the city guaranteeing $100,000 of $500,000 loan, seven years tax
rebates at 100 percent and minimum assessment of $364,200.
With no further business before the committee, it was moved by Welper, seconded by Gunderson
that the meeting be adjourned at 8:23 a.m. Ayes: Seven. Motion carried.
