Kincaid now present at 8:02 a.m. Mayor Hurley reviewed the Standing Committee agenda items for June 7, 2004 Council Members reviewed items that have been placed on the council agenda of Monday, June 7, 2004 with department heads who have items on the agenda The following items were discussed. 1. Council discussed the addendum to the development agreement with James H. Slife, owner of Pioneer Graphics, to extend the number of rebatement years at 100 percent from five to eight years. 2. Discussed the request from Ralph E. Russell Trust to rescind the portion of the agreement requiring the Trust to repay the city for construction of Greyhound Drive. The city has a lien on the property, and there is renewed interest in the area. The owners feel if they don't have to repay the loan, they could lower their asking price for the land, which would make it easier to sell. Councilperson Kincaid asked why there is a variation in the cost for the Water Works to make repairs to water service lines. Jerry Stevens, General Manager of the Water Works, responded the costs will vary according to the location of the line and if excavation of the pavement is required. Residents are asked to seek bids for plumbing costs. The service line is owned by the homeowner from the main service line to the pave box. Councilperson Greenwood suggested adding a $2 or $3 monthly fee to each customer's bill to use for maintenance of lines for homeowners, or maybe on a voluntary basis. Mayor Hurley thought this was a good idea and asked Councilperson Greenwood to put his proposal in writing. With no further business before the council, it was moved by Greenwood, seconded by Schmitt that the meeting be adjourned at 8:28 a.m. Ayes: Six. Absent: Cole. Motion carried. Nancy Eckert City Clerk
