Members present: Chairperson Cole, Schmitt, Gunderson.
Moved by Gunderson, seconded by Schmitt that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes:
Three. Motion carried.
The committee reviewed Mayor Tim Hurley's recommendation on appointment of members to
the ADA Compliance Commission. In February 2004, the ADA Compliance Commission was
created by ordinance and made a part of the Waterloo Code of Ordinances. The committee
reviewed the following appointments: Darci Krouse, Mike Reyhons and Rod Burnett, with term
expiration of February 1, 2007; Diane Holmes and Ken McDonald, with term expiration of
February 1, 2006; and Craig Schwerdtfeger, John Hawse and Deb Gosse, with term expiration of
February 1, 2005. Darci Krouse is being appointed upon the recommendation of Mayor Hurley
and council members, with the remaining individuals serving on the commission prior to the
adoption of the new ordinance. One position still remains vacant. Moved by Schmitt, seconded
by Gunderson that the above appointments be approved and forwarded to the full council for
approval. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
The committee reviewed Mayor Tim Hurley's recommendation on appointment of members to
the Appeals & Examiners of the Electrical Code. The following appointments were
recommended by Mayor Hurley: Gary Sieben and Derrick Carter, with term expiration of
November 1, 2005 and Roger Fisher, with term expiration of November 1, 2006. Gary Sieben
will fill the position left vacant by the death of Dennis Buck. Derrick Carter is being reappointed
one additional term and Roger Fisher will fill the position held by Kurt Frank. Moved by
Gunderson, seconded by Schmitt that the above appointments be approved and forwarded to the
full council for approval. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
With no further business before the committee, it was moved by Gunderson, seconded by
Schmitt that the meeting be adjourned at 4:07 p.m. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
