HomeMy WebLinkAbout07.01.2004COUNCIL WORK SESSION July 1, 2004 8:00 a.m. Council Chambers Members present: Kincaid, Cole, Clark, Schmitt, Welper, Greenwood. Members absent: Gunderson. Moved by Kincaid, seconded by Schmitt that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Six. Absent: Gunderson. Motion carried. Agenda items that have been placed on the council agenda of Tuesday, July 6, 2004 were reviewed with Department Heads who placed items on the agenda. Mayor Pro Tem Welper reviewed the Standing Committee agendas for Tuesday, July 6, 2004. Items discussed included: 1. Recycling Yard applications. Planning and Zoning staff is recommending that eight of the companies be denied a license due to non-compliance with the ordinance. If the denial is approved by council, the companies will receive a letter from the city notifying them they have 30 days to come into compliance or they will be given a citation. 2. Request from Winchester Farms, Inc. to rezone property located north of Audubon Park Fifth Addition for purpose of single and multi -family housing developments. Several residents in the area oppose the development as they want an additional access road to keep down the traffic. City Engineer does not feel the low amount of traffic justifies another access. With no further business before the committee, it was moved by Clark, seconded by Schmitt that the meeting be adjourned at 8:12 a.m. Ayes: Six. Absent: Gunderson. Motion carried.
