HomeMy WebLinkAbout09.23.2004• COUNCIL WORK SESSION September 23, 2004 8:00 a.m. Council Chambers Members present: Kincaid, Clark, Gunderson, Welper. Members absent: Cole, Greenwood, Schmitt. Moved by Kincaid, seconded by Gunderson that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Four. Absent: Cole, Greenwood, Schmitt. Motion carried. Agenda items that have been placed on the council agenda of Monday, September 27, 2004 were reviewed with Department Heads who have placed items on the agenda. Mayor Pro Tem Welper reviewed Standing Committee agendas for Monday, September 27, 2004. The following items were discussed: 1. The opening of bids for the Metal Roof for Solid Waste Storage and Repair Center at Pollution Control. Bid opening has been moved to October 4, 2004. 2. Rezoning request by Richard Helgeson for an elderly and low-i*icome seniors affordable assisted living to be located along Indiana Street between Lafayette and Dearborn Streets. There will be a local manager. 3. Memorandum of Understanding with INRCOG to develop grant for Federal Recreational Trails for Whitewater Course as part of the Cedar Valley River Renaissance Plan. The project is estimated to cost $325,000, with a city match of $65,000. 4. Amendment to Zoning ordinance as it pertains to creating definition of a gaming facility and adding gaming facility as a permitted use in C-P, M-2,P and M-2 zoning districts. A hearing is scheduled for October 18, 2004. 5. Closing of Home Shopping Network due to building not large enough. Don Temeyer will contact them right away. With no further business before the council, it was moved by Clark, seconded by Gunderson that the meeting be adjourned at 8:25 a.m. Ayes: Four. Absent: Cole, Greenwood, Schmitt. Motion carried.
