HomeMy WebLinkAbout09.02.2004COUNCIL WORK SESSION September 2, 2004 8:00 a.m. Council Chambers Members present: Mayor Hurley, Kincaid, Cole, Clark, Schmidt, Gundersoni Welper. Members absent: Greenwood. Moved by Welper, seconded by Kincaid that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Six. Absent: Greenwood. Motion carried. Agenda items that have been placed on the council agenda of Tuesday, September 7, 2004 were reviewed with Department Heads who have placed items on the agenda. Mayor Hurley reviewed Standing Committee agendas for Tuesday, September 7, 2004. Items discussed included: 1. The work session is being held to discuss priority streets during snow removal. 2. Vacation of the alley located along 200 East Arlington Street. The former Roosevelt School was built over the alley. 3. 28E Agreement with the Northeast Response Team to provide hazardous materials response and training for ten counties. Waterloo Fire Rescue will provide training for the fire departments at a cost of fifty cents per capita. The person who spills the hazardous waste will be charged for the cleaning. 4. Councilperson Clark asked that a school sign be placed on Parker Street at Longfellow and Cedar Bend Streets because of the new Lincoln School. Motorists and students think it is a four-way stop when in fact it is a three-way stop. With no further business before the council, it was moved by Welper, seconded by Gunderson that the meeting be adjourned at 8:20 a.m. Ayes: Six. Absent: Greenwood! Motion carried.
