COUNCIL WORK SESSION
January 30, 2003

Council Chambers
Members present: Mayor Rooff, Kincaid, Welper, Greenwood, Clark, Jordan, Hurley, Getty.
Moved by Jordan, seconded by Welper that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes:
Seven. Motion carried.
Agenda items that have been placed on the council agenda for Monday, February 3, 2003, were
discussed with department heads who have placed items on the agenda. Items discussed
included:
1. Funds in the amount of $18,000.00 for airline consultant to bring in passengers at the
airport.
2. Counter offer for Parcels A and B generally located on Pleasant Valley Drive.
3. SSMID and potential for petition against the SSMID.
4. 2003 Bridge Inspection Program with Earth Tech.
5. 28E Agreements with East Waterloo Township, Cedar Township and Elk Run
Heights. Cost for East Waterloo Township has been increased $250.00 per year and
the cost for Cedar Township and Elk Run Heights has been increased 5 percent per
capita.
Greenwood now absent at 8:21 a.m.
6. Sale of city property to Gina Jordan. Ms. Jordan has agreed that the city could sell 20
feet to the Beckers. The city will sell the 20 feet of property to the Beckers at the
same price as the land being sold to Ms. Jordan. Will have to hold a separate hearing
for the Beckers.
7. Recent increase in sewer rates which was made effective January 1, 2003. Citizens
being billed for October through December 2002 services are receiving the new
increase. Discussion by Councilpersons Clark and Getty that the increase should not
have gone into effect until the fees for services through December 2002 have been
billed.
With no further business before the council, it was moved by Jordan, seconded by Getty that the
meeting be adjourned at 8:35 a.m. Ayes: Six. Absent: Greenwood. Motion carried.
