Moved by Jordan, seconded by Clark that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Six. Motion carried. Agenda items that have been placed on the council agenda for Monday, January 13, 2003, were discussed with department heads who have placed items on the agenda. Items discussed included: 1. Reduction of sewer rates by 14.5 percent for low-income residents and single households over 65 for those who qualify for a garbage exemption. 2. Reorganization of Fire Rescue for inspection purposes. 3. Expanding CURA to Burton Avenue. 4. Written policy for sale of city -owned property which is buildable. Need to look at not only price but what the property will be used for. Discussed recapturing appraised value within five years with property taxes paid, method used for assessed value. Could use taxable value of the land adjacent to the property for sale as set by the Assessor's office or have property appraised. 5. Mayor Rooff updated the council on award of $7.3 million Vision Iowa funds to the city. Total Vision Iowa funds awarded to the Cedar Valley is $9.5 million. With no further business before the council, it was moved by Jordan, seconded by Clark that the meeting be adjourned at 9:03 a.m. Ayes: Six. Motion carried. Nancy Eckert City Clerk
