4:15 p.m.
Council Chambers
Members present: Mayor Rooff, Kincaid, Welper, Greenwood, Clark, Jordan, Hurley, Getty.

Motion carried.
Lou Cutwright, Building Official/Maintenance Administrator, updated the council on the ADA
Pedestrian Walkway along Falls and University Avenues. The ADA Commission has been
working on the ADA Pedestrian Walkway along Falls and University Avenues since early 2001.
The need for the project was very apparent when stories were told of disabled persons walking in
the streets to get to different locations and to get to the bus stops. The commission sought
private donations and grants to finance the project, but after research and a failed grant
application, the commission voted unanimously to use CIP ADA funding to complete the
project. The cost of the project is estimated to be $65,000.00 to $70,000.00. The new walkway
will serve clients of Goodwill Industries, Adults, Inc. and Exceptional Persons people who have
disabilities such as mental retardation, brain injuries and similar disabilities.
This item will be forwarded to the full council for approval of plans, specifications and a date of
bid letting.
With no further business before the council, it was moved by Getty, seconded by Clark that the
meeting be adjourned at 4:30 p.m. Ayes: Seven. Motion carried.
