Members absent: Jordan. Moved by Welper, seconded by Hurley that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Six. Absent: Jordan. Motion carried. Don Temeyer, Community Planning and Development Director, updated the council on the Vision Iowa projects. The council will be asked on May 27, 2003 to set a date of hearing as June 9, 2003 on the sale of bonds in the amount of $7.5 million to fund the projects, which includes the Cedar River Plaza and Amphitheater, development of the Riverwalk Loop and Cedar River Dam. The total amount to be bonded at this time is $9.775 million, including the National Cattle Congress project and Grout Museum. The Black Hawk County Board of Supervisors are meeting this week to discuss funding in the amount of $1.25 million for the National Cattle Congress and $750,000.00 funding for the Cedar River Dam project. Supporters of the Cattle Congress project hope to apply on May 16, 2003 for a CAT grant. Mr. Temeyer reported that the Iowa Army Corps of Engineers has submitted their final report. The city needs to give to the Army Corps of Engineers and DNR the final design on the dam and retention wall for the band shell. A member of the National Cattle Congress Board updated the council on the progress of the National Cattle Congress project. The Board has been and will continue to try to get private funding for the project. The total cost for the National Cattle Congress project is estimated at $6.5 million, and they are asking for $3 million for CAT funding. With no further business before the council, it was moved by Getty, seconded by Clark that the meeting be adjourned at 4:45 p.m. Ayes: Six. Absent: Jordan. Motion carried. Nancy Eckert City Clerk
