HomeMy WebLinkAbout10.30.2003• i COUNCIL WORK SESSION October 30, 2003 8:00 a.m. Council Chambers Members present: Mayor Rooff, Kincaid, Welper, Greenwood, Clark, Jordan, Hurley, Getty. Moved by Jordan, seconded by Welper that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Seven. Motion carried. Items that are on the council agenda of Monday, November 3, 2003 were discussed with departments heads who have items on the agenda. Council discussed the award of bid to Kriss Premium Quality Industrial Chemicals and Water Treatment of Minneapolis at a cost of $17,000.00 per year for the treatment of heating and cooling systems in city buildings. The project was bid, with Kriss the low bidder. Mayor Rooff discussed the report from Environmental Protection Agency on the city's effort to revitalize the former Chamberlain Manufacturing Company property. The report from the EPA is part of Phase I of the Brownfield Area cleanup. Council members discussed the 28E Agreement with Hudson for design, letting, construction and inspection of the asphalt trail along Sergeant Road from Falls Avenue to Walnut Street in Hudson, at a cost of $450,000.00, with the city responsible for $72,270.00. Council discussed the request by Jay Trevor to rezone property located at 200 East Arlington to convert former Roosevelt School into 21 unit multifamily senior apartment complex, and what happens to the rezoning if Waterloo School Administration does not sell the building to Mr. Trevor. Waterloo School Administration is accepting bids on December 13, 2003 and John Foley has also expressed an interest in bidding. With no further business before the council, it was moved by Getty, seconded by Clark that the meeting be adjourned at 8:25 a.m. Ayes: Seven. Motion carried. Nancy Eckert City Clerk
