HomeMy WebLinkAbout10.16.2003• • COUNCIL WORK SESSION October 16, 2003 8:00 a.m. Council Chambers Members present: Mayor Rooff, Kincaid, Welper, Greenwood, Clark, Jordan, Hurley, Getty. Moved by Jordan, seconded by Welper that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Seven. Motion carried. Items that are on the council agenda of Monday, October 20, 2003 were discussed with departments heads who have items on the agenda. Items discussed included: 1. Rezoning request from Jay Trevor for the property located at 200 East Arlington to create a 21 unit multifamily senior apartment complex. Councilperson Welper discussed the city demolishing the former Roosevelt Grade School and platting the property to be used by a contractor to build tract homes. It was pointed out the Waterloo School District owns the building and is holding a hearing to sell the property to Mr. Trevor. 2. Council discussed the proposed animal leash ordinance which would require animals to be on a leash when not on the owner's property or restrained within a motor vehicle. The ordinance would require the animal to be on a leash even on private property if the property is not fenced it. With no further business before the council, it was moved by Welper, seconded by Kincaid that the meeting be adjourned at 8:42 a.m. Ayes: Seven. Motion carried. Nancy Eckert City Clerk
