Members present: Welper, Clark, Hurley, Getty, Jordan.
Members absent: Berry, Greenwood.
Moved by Hurley, seconded by Clark that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Four.
Absent: Berry, Greenwood, Jordan. Motion carried.
The following items were reviewed by Michelle Weidner, Chief Financial Officer:
1. Budget Narrative (description of departments)
2. Personnel Summary for FY00, FY01, FY02 and proposed for FY03
3. Budget Listing (Department Heads request)
Jordan now present at 4:30 p.m.
The placement of firefighters at the Airport was discussed and reimbursement by the Waterloo
Airport Board.
Ms. Weidner reported that the instructions to Department Heads were to project realistic
revenues and the cost to operate the department.
It was noted that some of the options for council members during the budget process are: raise
taxes, cut personnel and look at internal efficiencies.
The council discussed the Riverfront Renaissance Plan as to how it will relate to the budget.
The council discussed grants and how they relate to the budget.
With no further business before the council, it was moved by Getty, seconded by Jordan that the
meeting be adjourned at 5:20 p.m. Ayes: Five. Absent: Berry, Greenwood. Motion carried.
