HomeMy WebLinkAbout05.02.2002• • COUNCIL WORK SESSION May 2, 2002 8:00 a.m. Council Chambers Members present: Mayor Rooff, Berry, Welper, Clark, Getty, Jordan, Greenwood. Members absent: Hurley. Moved by Getty, seconded by Berry that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Four. Absent: Hurley, Jordan, Greenwood. Motion carried. Jordan now present at 8:03 a.m. Items that have been placed on the council agenda for Monday, May 6, 2002, were discussed with Department Heads who have items on the agenda. Mayor Rooff reported that a work session has been scheduled for May 13, 2002 on the burning issue, and that item will be placed on the council agenda of May 20, 2002. The issue of primary versus runoff election will be discussed at a council work session on May 27, 2002 and placed on the council agenda of June 3, 2002. Greenwood now present at 8:06 a.m. Councilperson Clark stated he has been asked by representatives of Church Row Neighborhood Association when the city will look at the International Maintenance Code. Lou Cutwright, Building Official/Maintenance Administrator, reported the documents have been sent to the Mayor" office. Mr. Cutwright will update the documents and forward a copy to council members and Mayor Rooff. Mayor Rooff stated he will follow up on this item. Sandie Greco, Superintendent of Transportation, reported that the Church Row Neighborhood Association requested that odd/even parking be instituted. Ms. Greco reported that odd/even parking would not work because of the difficulty collecting garbage. Councilperson Getty asked when the FY03 Budget will be ready for the council to review. Mayor Rooff responded that he will be working on the budget. He can provide ideas but until wages and insurance are settled, there are unanswered items in the budget. Councilperson Greenwood asked when the property and liability insurance proposals will be coming to the council. Councilperson Greenwood asked if the ordinance for Pat Rooff could be rewritten. Mayor Rooff asked Councilperson Greenwood to staff these items. Councilperson Welper discussed a litter problem he witnessed. With no further business before the council, it was moved by Getty, seconded by Jordan that the meeting be adjourned at 8:20 a.m. Ayes: Six. Absent: Hurley. Motion carried. Nancy Eckert City Clerk
