COUNCIL WORK SESSION
October 3, 2002

Council Chambers
Members present: Berry, Welper, Greenwood, Clark, Hurley, Jordan, Getty.
Moved by Jordan, seconded by Welper that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes:
Seven. Motion carried.
Items that have been placed on the council agenda of Monday, October 7, 2002, were discussed
with Department Heads who have items on the agenda.
Items discussed included:
1. Request of Police Chief for authorization to hire seven Police Officers. Discussed
authorized level of 121 in FY 03 Budget, slots available at the academy for
January 2003.
2. Brownfield area grants and acquisition.
3. Proposed ordinance for a runoff election. Councilperson Berry gone on Monday
so will place on the council agenda of October 14, 2002.
4. Notice of Intent to Vision Iowa, which will include Cedar Falls, Evansdale, Black
Hawk County and the National Cattle Congress.
With no further business before the council, it was moved by Jordan, seconded by Welper that
the meeting be adjourned at 9:00 a.m. Ayes: Seven. Motion carried.
