COUNCIL WORK SESSION
December 5, 2002

Members present: Berry, Welper, Greenwood, Clark, Jordan, Hurley, Getty.
Moved by Jordan, seconded by Welper that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes:
Seven. Motion carried.
Items that have been placed on the council agenda of Monday, December 9, 2002, were
discussed with Department Heads who have items on the agenda.
Lynn Neil, Walter Cunningham School of Excellence, reported on the families that are being
adopted for Christmas by Partners in Education.
Items discussed included:
1. Sale of Krieg School. Walter Reed, Executive Director of Human Rights, will
provide history of Gates Park Youth Basketball League and financial report.
Berry now absent at 8:30 a.m.
2. Discussed proposed increase to water rates. Proposed rate increase is 4 cents per
Ccf, which would equate to a 7 percent increase. There have been no increases in
water rates since 1999.
3. Discussed forgiving special assessments at 210, 212, and 216 Franklin Street in
the total amount of $8,457.08 for construction of Family Video Store.
4. Discussed scheduling a work session on screening of dumpsters.
With no further business before the council, it was moved by Jordan, seconded by Clark that the
meeting be adjourned at 8:50 a.m. Ayes: Six. Absent: Berry. Motion carried.
