Members present: Mayor Rooff, Jordan, Krizek, Murphy, Gronen, Getty, Berry.
Members absent: Anders.
Moved by Jordan, seconded by Murphy that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Six.
Absent: Anders. Motion carried.
The request of the Executive Director of the Waterloo Convention & Visitors Bureau to approve
the revised application submitted by the Waterloo -Cedar Falls Symphony Orchestra for
hotel/motel funds was reviewed. The Waterloo -Cedar Falls Symphony Orchestra was approved
for funding of $7,500.00 of hotel/motel funds to use for presenting Cirque Eloize. Cirque
Eloize's company will be touring in Europe during May 2002 and is not available for any concerts
in the States. The Symphony has booked another performance, Bravo Broadway, which is
scheduled for May 3-4, 2002. The Symphony re -submitted a grant application for hotel/motel
funding in the amount of $7,500.00 to use for advertising and marketing associated with Bravo
Broadway.
Moved by Jordan, seconded by Gronen that the application submitted by the Waterloo -Cedar
Falls Symphony for hotel/motel funds in the amount of $7,500.00 to be used for advertising and
marketing efforts associated with presenting Bravo Broadway, which will replace the previous
application submitted by the Waterloo -Cedar Falls Symphony Orchestra for Cirque Eloize be
approved. Ayes: Six. Absent: Anders. Motion carried.
With no further business before the council, it was moved by Jordan, seconded by Berry that the
meeting be adjourned at 4:43 p.m. Ayes: Six. Absent: Anders. Motion carried.
