COUNCIL WORK SESSION
May 21, 2001

Members present: Anders, Krizek, Murphy, Gronen, Getty, Berry.
Members absent: Jordan.
Moved by Murphy, seconded by Berry that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Six.
Absent: Jordan. Motion carried.
Don Temeyer, City Planner, reviewed the Capital Improvement Program for Fiscal Year 2002-
2006. The opening letter to the Capital Improvement Program (C.I.P.) details the information,
input, and planning for the structure of the C.I.P. It also notes the importance of the C.I.P. in
regards to the Land Use Policy Plan and how to prioritize improvements to the city to maintain
and facilitate its continued growth as a community. The total G.O. Debt requested for FY02 is
$6,925,000.00, with $3,000,000.00 in Sanitary Sewer for a total of $9,925,000.00.
Mr. Temeyer reviewed the Hanna Boulevard Culvert project, bike trails, Midport America, and
Ansborough Interchange.
Councilperson Berry asked about funding for the Donald Street bike trail. Mr. Temeyer
responded that the Donald Street trail is considered a local trail and it is harder to receive state
and federal grants for this type of project.
With no further business before the council, it was moved by Berry, seconded by Gronen that the
meeting be adjourned at 5:02 p.m. Ayes: Six. Absent: Jordan. Motion carried.
