HomeMy WebLinkAbout04.17.2000• • COUNCIL WORK SESSION April 17, 2000 4:50 p.m. Council Chambers Members present: Mayor Rooff, Anders, Jordan, Krizek, Murphy, Gronen, Getty, Berry. Also present: Jim Hagley and Bob Bamsey. Moved by Jordan, seconded by Gronen that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Seven. Motion carried. The Lagoon Controls/Generator Building Project for the Water Pollution Control Facility, Contract No. 614, was reviewed. Jim Hagley of Earth Tech presented the design of the project. Mr. Hagley stated that controls will be installed at the west side of the lagoon, and a new generator building will be constructed. The controllers will send information back to the plant. Estimated cost of the project is $300,000.00, with EPA funding of $150.000.00. The Partnering Team and DNR have approved the project. A bid opening and hearing is scheduled for May 15, 2000, with an anticipated June construction date and completion date of September. Councilperson Krizek asked if this will prevent the cover from tears. Mr. Hagley stated that the controls will inform the city when the pressure if falling, but that with high winds, such as 70 mph, there could still be damage. With no further business before the council, it was moved by Krizek, seconded by Murphy that the meeting be adjourned at 5:16 p.m. Ayes: Seven. Motion carried. Nancy Eckert City Clerk
