Moved by Krizek, seconded by Berry that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Six. Absent: Jordan. Motion carried. The Windows on Waterloo Review Committee updated the council on their project. The committee has held two meetings. There are six 4' x 4' double sided panels which will be installed along the bike path. The committee spent time making sure they understood who would use the panels, including pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorists. Its been the experience of Shrive Hattery when working with wayside exhibits to look at the following: are people interested, how people feel, want them to be proud, amazed and discover things, want people to visit and spend time in Waterloo. The committee is designing the panels to build on Windows on Waterloo with each panel having a window taken from the community, a glimpse or a window into the community and lead them to explore. The street side is semi -graphic and the back side will direct them to places. The committee is looking at having different layers with images. Could be part of a guessing game to find out where the panel window is located in the city. The next step is to develop and find photographs and develop information to be put on orientation maps. The committee expects to finalize the design within two months. The material is state of art, full color, fiber glass with graphics embedded and weather resistant. The panels will be designed so that they can be updated. Not all the windows will have historical significance, but will be from all areas of the city from Sunnyside to Highland Park. The project is being 80 percent funded with a State Enhancement Grant. With no further business before the council, it was moved by Anders, seconded by Berry that the meeting be adjourned at 4:45 p.m. Ayes: Six. Absent: Jordan. Motion carried. Nancy Eckert City Clerk
