September 25, 2000
3:05 p.m.
Council Chambers
Members present: Getty, Anders, Jordan, Gronen, Berry.
Members absent: Krizek, Murphy.
Moved by Jordan, seconded by Getty that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Five.
Absent: Krizek, Murphy. Motion carried.
Change Order No. 1 for a net increase of $369,300.00 for work to be performed by Story
Construction Company in conjunction with the Anaerobic Digester Project was reviewed. The
change order incorporates the Anaerobic Lagoon emergency generator building, standby
generator, gas blower controls and cover controls improvement into the Water Pollution Control
Facilities, Contract No. 550. Bids received earlier this year for the work were approximately 75
percent higher than the engineer's estimates. In order to reduce overall cost, some of the controls
and radio telemetry work was deleted and will be performed by Water Pollution/Flood Control
star The work included in Change Order No. 1 is necessary to provide standby power for the
Anaerobic Lagoon in the event of power outages in order to keep the raw wastewater pumps, gas
controls and lagoon cover functioning properly. The rest of the controls and telemetry system
work, being jointly performed under Change Order No. 1 and plant staff, will allow continuous
monitoring of lagoon operations from the WPCF site, which will enable staff to respond quickly
to developing operational situations or emergencies at the lagoon.
With no further business before the council, it was moved by Jordan, seconded by Berry that the
meeting be adjourned at 3:10 p.m. Ayes: Five. Absent: Krizek, Murphy. Motion carried.
