I am a constituent of Ward 3 living at 625 Magnolia Parkway, about a quarter of a mile from the old Edison School lot. I am writing to express my favor for the current proposed development featuring single family homes and a park area for future development. I have resided in this neighborhood since 2010, and my late husband had resided here since the late 90s until his death in 2014. I know residents had previously expressed much opposition to the development of the Edison School Lot, be it had always been promised to be developed as ONLY single family homes with a park to be included. Our biggest hang up with the previous developer's plan was that they were not single family homes of similar stature that were being proposed and that the park would only come to fruition once the developer had sold all of the units. This left the neighborhood with the possibility of a very dense population in a very small area in a neighborhood that has limited parking and road access. The park was included in the previous developer's plans but there were no guarantees that it would even be completed if the developer did not sell all of the units. The new proposed plans now include smaller family homes which fit into the character of the neighborhood much more seamlessly; and I hope reduce the amount of potential traffic and congestion in the area for the time being. This neighborhood has always been a predominantly working class neighborhood filled with privately owned homes of families and there are many families with multiple generations living within this neighborhood. For the most part I feel as if this new development plan is much more long sighted and in better alignment with this part of city's character. I felt it important to express my personal favor for this plan as I feel it will be the best deal all around for the neighborhood at this time. Thank you for your time and consideration on this matter. Your constituent at 625 Magnolia Parkway, Amy Kass-Heichel 1 KELLEY FELCHLE I\cwv4-E IR thtc -Hea From: Ben Neil <bendneil@gmail.com> Sent: Monday, February 21, 2022 2:39 PM To: KELLEY FELCHLE Subject: 02/21/2022 City Council Meeting Comments for Agenda Item #4 Site Plan Amendment at the former Edison School site Good afternoon Kelley, I would appreciate it, if I could have my statement read and placed on file in support of agenda item #4 Site Plan Amendment... (former Edison School site). I am unable to attend the City Council meeting tonight as I had planned, due to a sick child. My statement is written below. My name is Ben Neil. I live at 1056 Evergreen Ave. I could not be in attendance tonight however; I want to express my complete support for agenda item number four: the request by Panther Builders for a site plan amendment of thirty-two single-family homes located at the former Edison School site. This residential development being proposed by Panther Builders would be a great addition and asset to the Edison neighborhood. It will blend in nicely with the surrounding area creating an organic and complimentary feel while bringing in new families and new opportunities for growth. This development is also exactly, what the neighborhood wants. It is single-family homes, on similar -sized lots, with space left on Falls Avenue for commercial development and space for the city park near Bismark Avenue. I am excited about this development and the many positive things it would bring to our community. Thank you, Mayor and City Council members for your time. t
