RESOLUTION NO. 2022-141
RESOLUTION APPROVING AWARD OF BID TO VIETH
CONSTRUCTION CORPORATION, OF CEDAR FALLS, IOWA,
IN THE AMOUNT OF $1,692,500.00, AND APPROVING THE
CONTRACT, BONDS AND CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE, IN
CONJUNCTION WITH THE FIVE SULLIVAN BROTHERS
CONVENTION CENTER PLAZA RENOVATION PROJECT,
AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO
EXECUTE SAID DOCUMENTS.
WHEREAS, Vieth Construction Corporation, of Cedar Falls, Iowa, submitted a bid in the
amount of $1,692,500.00, in conjunction with the Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center
Plaza Renovation Project, and is the apparent low bidder, and
WHEREAS, Vieth Construction, Corporation submitted a written contract, bond and
certificate of insurance, in conjunction with the Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center Plaza
Renovation Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA
1. That the bid of Vieth Construction Corporation, in the amount of $1,692,500.00, in
conjunction with the Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center Plaza Renovation Project,
is hereby awarded.
2. That the contract, bond and certificate of insurance submitted by Vieth Construction
Corporation for the Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center Plaza Renovation Project,
are hereby approved.
3. That the Mayor and City Clerk are authorized and directed to execute said documents on
behalf of the City of Waterloo, Iowa.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of March 2022.
