RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING STORM WATER USER FEE
DISCOUNTS FOR LOW-INCOME HOUSEHOLDS AND
SINGLE-FAMILY HOUSEHOLDS OVER 65 YEARS OF
AGE.
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, has
established a monthly storm water user fee as set forth in
Section 8-4-7, Establishment of Storm Water User Fees, of Chapter
4, Storm Water Management Program, of Title 8, Public Utilities,
of the Amended 2007 Code of Ordinances of the City of Waterloo,
Iowa, and
WHEREAS, low-income households and single-family households
over 65 years of age may make an annual application to the City
Clerk, and by meeting criteria established by the Finance
Committee of the City Council, may receive reduced storm water
user fees.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that low-income households and single-family
households over 65 years of age that have qualified for fee
reductions for garbage fees, shall automatically receive
discounts for storm water user fees as follows:
1. The discounted monthly storm water user fee will be
$1.00 less than the established rate for dwelling
units.
2. The discounted fee shall only be applied to residential
dwelling units. Commercial, industrial, governmental
or institutional properties are not eligible.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 21St day of December, 2009.
