RESOLUTION NO. 2022-270
RESOLUTION APPROVING A NEW RECORD REQUEST FEE
SCHEDULE FOR THE WATERLOO POLICE DEPARTMENT.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WATERLOO, IOWA,
that effective May 2, 2022, the fee schedule for open records requests for the Waterloo Police
Department is hereby approved as follows:
Single Case Fees, Arrest Histories and Online Reports
$10.00 for the first 20 pages of a case
$ .25 for each page over 20 up to 100 pages
$30.00 per hour for each case over 100 pages
Multiple Case Fees
$10.00 for the first five cases requested
$5.00 per case for anything over 5 cases
Computer Searches
$20.00 per address search
$20.00 for on demand reports and searches
$20.00 for Axon Searches per officer/per day (paid prior to the search)
Photographs and Recorded Evidence
$10.00 per photograph
$10.00 per DVD/CD
$10.00 per case for a download link sent via email
Fingerprinting
$20.00 per person
Axon Videos
$10 per minute of video requested, including redaction. Certain videos of a highly
sensitive nature, containing ongoing criminal investigations or medical information will not
be released.
Nonstandard Requests
Nonstandard requests, require multiple searches or analysis will be billed based on the
hourly rate/overtime rate of the employee required to complete the request. An estimate
will be provided to the requestor within 7 days.
Deposit
For requests that are/estimated to be over $100 a 50% down payment will be required.
