AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE 2020 TRAFFIC CODE BY
DELETING SECTION 279, TRUCK AND BUS PARKING
PROHIBITED, IN ITS ENTIRETY, AND INSERTING IN LIEU
THEREOF A NEW SECTION 279, TRUCK AND BUS
PARKING, TO THE 2020 TRAFFIC CODE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Waterloo, Iowa, that the City of
Waterloo Traffic Code is hereby amended as follows:
That Section 279, Truck and Bus Parking Prohibited, of the 2020 Traffic Code shall be deleted in
its entirety.
That a new Section 279, Truck and Bus Parking Prohibited, shall be inserted in lieu thereof to the
2020 Traffic Code, as follows:
SEC 279. TRUCK AND BUS PARKING PROHIBITED.
No person shall park a motor truck, implement of husbandry, special mobile unit, van or
other vehicle used for the carrying of freight or persons on any residential street in the city, or on
the following commercial streets; Cyclone Drive, Titan Trail and Athens Drive, except when
making a delivery or picking up persons or freight on said street and when doing so shall park only
for a length of time reasonably necessary to perform said function.
Nothing in this ordinance shall prevent the parking of a light delivery truck, panel delivery
truck or pick-up truck on a residential street. A school bus may park on a residential street only
on those days that school is in session and only between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. (Ord.
#3758, 12/17/90).
