RESOLUTION EXTENDING A MORATORIUM FOR NEW
ALCOHOL-RELATED DRINKING AND RETAIL
ESTABLISHMENTS FOR AN ADDITIONAL PERIOD OF
FOURTEEN (14) DAYS IN THE CITY OF WATERLOO,
BLACK HAWK COUNTY, IOWA.
WHEREAS, the City of Waterloo is, and has been, in the
process of reviewing portions of the City of Waterloo Zoning
Ordinance as it pertains to new alcohol-related drinking and
retail establishments, and
WHEREAS, on July 27, 2009, the City Council of the City of
Waterloo adopted Resolution No. 2009-757 placing a 120 -day
moratorium on new alcohol-related drinking and retail
establishments, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Waterloo believes
that a moratorium should be extended for an additional fourteen
days, until said amendments have been presented to, and adopted
by, the City Council of the City of Waterloo.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WATERLOO, IOWA, that a moratorium is hereby extended on new
alcohol-related drinking and retail establishments for an
additional fourteen (14) days from the date of enactment of this
Resolution.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 23rd day of November, 2009.
