Members absent: Randall Miller, Marcia Courbat, Mel Wittwer, Ron Nielsen, and Chad Hill (A). Also in Attendance: Nancy Higby, Administrative Secretary Moved by Ticknor, seconded by Mrzlak, that the Agenda be approved. Ayes: Eight. Motion carried. Moved by Petersen, seconded by Hastings that the Minutes of October 26, 2016, be approved. Ayes: Eight. Motion carried. Citizens Oral Comments Richard Hurtado submitted for consideration, estimates which he received for tree limb removal, and replacement of the front steps and front doors. Treasurer's Report Marcia Courbat was absent so no Treasurer's Report was given. Nancy Higby presented an invoice from Black Hawk Memorial in the amount of $150 for the engraving of 6 bricks. Motion was made by Petersen, seconded by Ticknor, to pay the invoice in the amount of$150 to Black Hawk Memorial for the engraving of 6 bricks. Ayes. Eight. Motion carried. Chairperson's Report Craig White, Chairperson, reported that efforts continue to raise funds for future Honor Flights. Committee Reports Building, Grounds & Operations Richard Hastings, Building, Grounds & Operations Chairperson, briefly discussed the various maintenance needed at the Memorial Hall building. Education/Historical Randy Miller was absent so no report was given. Finance/Fundraising Marcia Courbat was absent, no report was given. Artifacts Preservation Jim Lentfer reported that he has come across quite a few items that are not considered to be artifacts. He invited commission members to look them over and offer opinions. He seeks permission to get rid of things though the Salvation Army and Goodwill. Mr. Wittwer shared quotes he received for the repair of a broken display case for the WWII Bomber Jacket. Motion was made by McDonald, seconded by Mrzlak to approve spending up to $100 for the purpose of repairing the display case. Ayes. Eight. Motion carried. November 30, 2016 Page 2 Page 2 Unfinished Business Craig White asked Mr. Hastings to get quotes for the needed fountain repairs by the end of the year and submit these to Nancy Higby, Administrative Secretary, so that she can provide this to the Building Maintenance Official at City Hall. New Business Craig White introduced Jim Petersen as the newest commission member, replacing Ron McMahon and representing Cedar Valley Civil War Roundtable. With no further business before the commission, it was moved by Ticknor, seconded by Mrzlak that the meeting be adjourned at 5:30 p.m. Ayes: Eight. Motion carried.
