Members present: Chairperson Dan Evanson, Ed Hutchens, Janet Longus, Larry Herzog, Noel
Thornsberry, Willie Cody.
Also present: Jeff Kraft from Mediacom, Ed Stoffer.
Moved by Herzog, seconded by Hutchens that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes:
Six. Motion carried.
Moved by Longus, seconded by Hutchens that the Minutes of May 4, 2006, as proposed, be
approved. Ayes: Six. Motion carried.
Financial Report
City Clerk Nancy Eckert reported on the ending budget for the Fiscal Year 2006.
Report From Mediacom
Jeff Kraft, Technical Operational Supervisor for Mediacom, distributed and reviewed the June
2006 report from Mediacom.
Report From CT Production Coordinator
Ed Stoffer, Cable Television Production Coordinator, reported new programming at the public
access studio includes: Jazz Cardio Strength Stretch, The Real Truth and Hen House Studio
Live. Mr. Stoffer distributed copies of the Channel 17 and 15 TV Guide for the month of July
2006.
New Business
Mr. Thornsberry reported on the legislation approved by the U.S. House. The legislation would
allow telephone companies and others to enter cable and video markets without negotiating a
franchise agreement with local authorities. Mr. Thornsberry suggested that the commission and
elected officials write letters opposing this legislation.
With no further business before the commission, it was moved by Longus, seconded by Herzog
that the meeting be adjourned at 4:26 p.m. Ayes: Six. Motion carried.
