Moved by Getty, seconded by Krizek that the Minutes of July 7, 1997, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Two. Absent : Mollenhoff . Motion carried. The following bids received for semi-annual EKG and x-rays for approximately 20 fire rescue personnel were reviewed: Covenant Allen TB $ 7 . 50 $ 6 . 00 EKG $ 41 . 00 $43 . 50 XRAY $108 . 70 $75 . 00 RESP $ 40 . 00 $32 . 00 The EKG bid from Allen is slightly higher than Covenant, but the chest x-rays are lower at Allen. It was the recommendation of the Fire Chief that the bid from Allen Occupational Health be accepted. Moved by Getty, seconded by Krizek that said recommendation be approved. Ayes : Two. Absent : Mollenhoff . Motion carried. The following bids received for printing of 2, 000 Fire Fighter trading cards were reviewed: Bidder Bid Amount Pro Image $4, 680 . 00 (includes sponsor' s and department' s logo Cole Photography $5, 400 . 00 (no logos) Digital Printing $5, 220 . 00 (no logos) Walden' s Photography $4, 932 . 00 for 1, 000 cards (no logos) It was the recommendation of the Fire Chief that the bid of Pro Image in the amount of $4, 680 . 00 be accepted. Moved by Getty, seconded by Krizek that said recommendation be approved. Ayes : Two. Absent : Mollenhoff. Motion carried. The request of the Finance Manager to advance $222, 093 . 38 from the FY98 Transit Levy budgeted for this year was reviewed. The advance will enable MET Transit to retire the remaining $261, 286 loan with Magna Bank 11 months earlier than the scheduled retirement date . The effect on the city is a 90 day advance, since we fund MET at the beginning of each quarter. The cost of the advance to the city is approximately $2, 600 in interest not earned. The advance will result in a budgetary savings in debt interest cost of $10, 000 to MET Transit and will greatly contribute to balancing their budget for FY98 . Moved by Getty, seconded by Krizek that a garbage refund in the amount of $30 for 161 Easton Avenue be approved. Ayes : Two. Absent : Mollenhoff. Motion carried. Moved by Getty, seconded by Krizek that a garbage refund in the amount of $120 for 1030 S. Evans Road be approved. Ayes : Two. Absent : Mollenhoff .
