Motion carried. Moved by Getty, seconded by Krizek that the Minutes of June 23 , 1997, as proposed, be approved. Ayes : Three. Motion carried. The following bids received for a heart monitor for the ambulance were reviewed: Bidder Bid Amount Zoll Medical Corporation $6, 954 . 00 Physio-Control Corporation $8, 316 . 00 It was the recommendation of the Fire Chief that the bid of Zoll Medical Corporation in the amount of $6, 954 . 00 be accepted. Moved by Getty, seconded by Krizek that said recommendation be approved. Ayes : Three. Motion carried. Moved by Krizek, seconded by Getty that the request of the Police Chief for authorization to seek bids for ammunition supplies be approved. Ayes : Three . Motion carried. The request of the Police Chief for authorization to purchase uniform and equipment supplies from Palace Clothiers at last year' s bid price was reviewed. The Police Department annually seeks bids from area vendors for uniform and equipment supplies . Last year bids were sent to four uniform suppliers and Palace Clothiers was the only bidder. Palace Clothiers has offered to maintain the same bid prices submitted last year. Moved by Krizek, seconded by Getty that said request be approved. Ayes : Three. Motion carried. The request of the Police Chief for authorization to seek bids for radio maintenance was reviewed. The vast majority of the department' s radio and related equipment is now maintained under the E911 system. There is some equipment still owned by the department, and it must be maintained to proper specifications and standards . Moved by Krizek, seconded by Getty that said request be approved. Ayes': Three . Motion carried. Moved by Krizek, seconded by Getty that the request of the Police Chief for authorization to seek bids for crime lab supplies and processing be approved. Ayes : Three. Motion carried. The request of the Superintendent of Central Garage for authorization to purchase a used jeep was reviewed. The jeep will be used by the Recreation Department for diamond and grounds maintenance. Holdiman Motors has a 1994 jeep with 56, 323 miles for sale at a price of $15, 000 . The jeep will be assigned to the motor pool and will be available to all departments . The jeep is included in the capital equipment program. Moved by Getty, seconded by Krizek that said request be approved. Ayes : Three . Motion carried. The request of the Waterloo Bucks to expend $3, 000 of excess Hotel/Motel Tax Funds for necessary repairs to Riverfront Stadium was reviewed. The storm on June 20, 1997 tore out approximately 60-75 feet of the left field wall that must be replaced. There are some costs above and beyond the replacement of the wall . There will be costs to paint the fence and there was also some damage to some of the box seats, and arm rests for some of the seats will need to be replaced. A contract with WATCO Construction to replace the 4 inch water service for the Iowa National Guard Armory in conjunction with the Hunt-Wesson Plant in MidPort America Park was reviewed.
