An amendment to the Engineering Contract with Claassen Engineering for design and construction engineering services in conjunction with F.Y. 1996 Sunnyside Heights Area Street Improvements, Contract No. 504, was reviewed. On November 20, 1995 the city entered into a contract with Claassen Engineering to perform design services, including sanitary sewer, at a cost not to exceed $15, 000 . 00 . In January the council authorized the construction of the sanitary sewer, using alternate B which will provide a much larger service area than originally planned. The survey, design, legal descriptions and preparation of the contract documents for this alternate were not included in the original contract . It is necessary to amend Claassen' s contract in order to compensate them for the additional work. The amendment totals $7, 200 . 00 for additional design services . They also estimate that additional construction engineering services associated with this sewer work will add $9, 000 . 00 to the original estimate of $18, 590 . 00 . The engineering costs associated with this project will be revised to $46, 790 . 00 of which $27, 000 . 00 is reimbursable under the RISE grant . The balance of $19, 790 . 00 will be paid out of sewer revenues .
