Moved by Mollenhoff, seconded by Anders that the Agenda, as amended to add request of Housing Director to purchase chain link fence in an amount not to exceed $2, 725 . 00, be approved. Ayes : Three. Motion carried. The following bids for lawn service for the 10 new houses for the Waterloo Housing Authority were reviewed: Bidder Bid Amount Chemlawn $383 . 00 per application Scotland Yard $394 . 00 per application American Beauty No Bid Nitro $ It was the recommendation of the Housing Director that the low bid of Chemlawn in the amount of $383 . 00 per application be approved. Moved by Mollenhoff, seconded by Anders that said recommendation be approved all inclusive of 4 applications for $1, 532 . 00 . Ayes : Three. Motion carried. The request of the Superintendent of Streets/Sanitation for authorization to contract with Corell for brush piled by city staff at the Wastewater Treatment Plant and in the Riverview area was reviewed. Corell will do the brush and tree grinding at a cost of $350 per hour. Staff has estimated the total cost may be $40, 000 . Moved by Anders, seconded by Mollenhoff that the Superintendent of Streets/Sanitation be authorized to contract with Corell for said brush clean-up services, pending identification of $40, 000 by the Budget Director. Ayes : Three. Motion carried. The following bids for appraisal services for property generally located between Commercial Street and Jefferson Street and West Mullan Avenue and Westfield Avenue were reviewed: Bidder Bid Amount Jones Appraisal Services $1,400 . 00 Hayes Appraisal Associates Inc. $2, 500 . 00 Appraisal Associates No Bid It was the recommendation of the City Planner that the low bid of Jones Appraisal in the amount of $1,400 . 00 be approved. Moved by Anders, seconded by Mollenhoff that said recommendation be approved Ayes : Three. Motion carried. Moved by Mollenhoff, seconded by Anders that a garbage refund in the amount of $120 . 00 for 215 Home Park be approved. Ayes : Three. Motion carried. Moved by Mollenhoff, seconded by Anders that the request of the Housing Director to purchase chain link fence in an amount not to exceed $2, 725 . 00 for 3 new houses be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Anders, seconded by Mollenhoff that the request of the Housing Director for pre-authorization to expend $383 . 00 for lawn service contract be approved. Ayes : Three. Motion carried. Moved by Mollenhoff, seconded by Anders that the request of the Fire Chief for pre-authorization to expend $1, 100 . 00 for 20 Bullard Advent 2 safety helmets be approved. Moved by Mollenhoff, seconded by Anders that the request of the City Clerk for pre-authorization to expend $650 . 00 for actuarial services for self-funded health insurance be approved. Ayes : Three. Motion carried. Moved by Mollenhoff, seconded by Anders that the request of the Recreation & Arts Director for pre-authorization to expend $62, 325 . 00 to purchase Zamboni Resurfacer Machine & a single point watering system be approved. Ayes : Three. Motion carried. Moved by Anders, seconded by Mollenhoff that the request of the Recreation & Arts Director for pre-authorization to expend $495 . 00 for bus to Iowa Football Game with Iowa Coaches be approved. Ayes : Three. Motion carried. Moved by Mollenhoff, seconded by Anders that the request of the Waterloo Library to increase Line Item #1583 in the amount of $5, 000 . 00 and Line Item #1587 in the amount of $5, 000 . 00 be deferred to September 26, 1994 meeting. Ayes : Three. Motion carried. With no further business before the committee, it was moved by Mollenhoff, seconded by Anders that the meeting be adjourned at 3 : 55 p.m. Ayes : Three. Motion carried.
