Moved by Mollenhoff, seconded by Anders that the Agenda, as
proposed, be approved. Ayes : Three . Motion carried.
Moved by Anders, seconded by Mollenhoff that a garbage refund in
the amount of $120 . 00 for 807 West 3rd Street and a garbage refund
in the amount of $40 . 50 for 811 West 3rd Street be approved. Ayes :
Three . Motion carried.
The request of the Forestry Coordinator for authorization to
proceed with taking of bids on the planting of 250 trees was
reviewed. Many trees in the parks and golf courses were destroyed
in the spring 1993 due to bad weather and flooding. FEMA funds
will be available to finance this project, but the city will have
to front the estimated $57, 000 cost . Moved by Mollenhoff, seconded
by Anders that said request be approved. Ayes : Three . Motion
carried.
Moved by Mollenhoff, seconded by Anders that the request of the
Waterloo Community Concert Band for funds in the amount of
$2, 3270 . 00 as approved in the FY 1995 Budget be approved. Ayes :
Three. Motion carried.
The request from the Administrative Director requesting
authorization to pay dues in the amount of $26, 586 . 80 for
membership to the Iowa Northland Regional Council of Governments
(INRCOG) for F.Y. 1995 was reviewed. INRCOG provides technical
assistance to city staff in preparation of grant applications and
transit services in the city. Moved by Mollenhoff, seconded by
Anders that payment of dues in the amount of $26, 586 . 80 for INRCOG
membership for F.Y. 1995 be approved and paid in quarterly
installments . Ayes : Three. Motion carried.
The Architectural Design Services Contract with Bossenberger
Associates in the amount of $7, 595 . 00 for redesigning the
structural system of Young Ice Arena was reviewed. The initial
bids for construction of the ice facility were too high, and the
facility had to be redesigned to get the project within budget .
The additional fee is basically to pay for the redesign of the
structural system done by Bossenberger Associates . The previous
city council approved the contract and redesign of the facility.
Moved by Mollenhoff, seconded by Anders that the amount of
$7, 595 . 00 be paid to Bossenberger Associates for redesigning of the
structural system of Young Ice Arena. Ayes : Three. Motion
carried.
Moved by Mollenhoff, seconded by Anders that bills payment, as
contained in Schedule A918, pp. 1-61, dated July 11, 1994, in the
amount of $2, 961,435 . 19, with the deletion of PV 90683 in the
amount of $23 , 761 . 00 be referred to the city council for their
approval . Ayes : Three. Motion carried.
With no further business before the committee, it was moved by
Mollenhoff, seconded by Anders that the meeting be adjourned at
3 :47 p.m. Ayes : Three. Motion carried.
