Moved by Mollenhoff, seconded by Krizek that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes : Three. Motion carried. The following bids for waste collection for Ridgeway Towers were reviewed: Bidder Bid Amount Black Hawk Waste Disposal $80 . 00 per month Corkery Waste Disposal Variable per landfill fee It was the recommendation of the Waterloo Housing Authority Director that the low bid of Black Hawk Waste Disposal in the amount of $80 . 00 per month be approved. Moved by Mollenhoff, seconded by Anders that said recommendation be approved. Ayes : Three . Motion carried. The following bids for HUD accounting contracts for Ridgeway Towers Apartments were reviewed: Bid Amount Bidder Monthly Set-Up Hawkins Ash Baptie Co. $898 . 90 $900 . 00 Kopsa Sylvester & Assoc . $328 . 00 $ 0 McCabe & Co. $407 . 00 $ 0 Lindsey and Co. $762 . 00 $750 . 00 It was the recommendation of the Waterloo Housing Authority Director that the low bid of Kopsal Sylvester & Association in the amount of $328 . 00 be approved. Moved by Mollenhoff, seconded by Anders that said recommendation be approved. Ayes : Three . Motion carried. The following bids for the replacement of ball diamond fencing at the Exchange Women' s Softball Complex were reviewed. Bidder Bid Amount Miller Fence $9, 069 .43 Iowa Fence Masters $8, 657 . 68 It was the recommendation of the Parks Superintendent that the low bid of Iowa Fence Masters in the amount of $8, 657 . 68 be approved. Moved by Mollenhoff, seconded by Anders that said recommendation be approved and the Parks Superintendent is to inform the Women' s Softball Association that in the future they should consider paying 100 percent of any improvements to this complex rather than the city sharing in the repair cost . Ayes : Three . Motion carried. The following quotes for repairs on the salt shed roof were reviewed: Quoter Quote Amount Larry Martin Roofing $300 . 00 Magee Construction $400 . 00 It was the recommendation of the Public Works Committee and the Superintendent of Streets/Sanitation that the low bid of Larry Martin Roofing in the amount of $300 . 00 be approved. Moved by Anders, seconded by Mollenhoff that said recommendation be approved. Ayes : Three. Motion carried. Finance Committee May 23 , 1994 Page 2 The following quotes for purchase of a barrel of chain for 400 feet of 3/8 grade 70 chain were reviewed: Quoter Quote Amount Campbell Supply $1 . 82/ft . = $ 728 . 00 Klemp Supply $2 . 38/ft . = $ 952 . 00 Aggregate Construction $3 . 10/ft . = $1, 240 . 00 It was the recommendation of the Superintendent of Streets/Sanitation that the low bid of Campbell Supply in the amount of $728 . 00 be approved. Moved by Anders, seconded by Mollenhoff that said recommendation be approved. Ayes : Three . Motion carried. The request of the City Planner to purchase a token ring card for the communications server to complete connection to the Black Hawk County computer was reviewed. An additional token ring card in the communications server is needed to complete the computer connection to the Black Hawk County AS400 computer. R. A. Snyder Consultants, Inc . has been involved in the project and has agreed to order the necessary software and install it for $840 . 00 . Moved by Mollenhoff, seconded by Anders that authorization be given to purchase a token ring and that R. A. Snyder be hired to install said token ring at a cost not exceed $840 . 00, including installation. Ayes : Three . Motion carried. Moved by Mollenhoff, seconded by Anders that bills payment, as contained in Schedule A918, pp. 1-61, dated May 23 , 1994, in the amount of $3, 172 , 036 . 52, with the deletion of Purchase Voucher 88911 in the amount of $98 . 17 be referred to the City Council for their approval . Ayes : Three. Motion carried. With no further business before the committee, it was moved by Mollenhoff, seconded by Anders that the meeting be adjourned at 6 :47 p.m. Ayes : Three. Motion carried.
