The relocation of the utility line for the Chain of Lakes Marina
located at U.S. Highway 218 and Airport Boulevard was reviewed.
The site plan for the Marina indicated that the Cedar Falls
overhead utility line would cross the corner of the building. With
the construction completed on the building, the centerline of the
utility line is over the corner but the outside lines cross the
peak of the building, which is unacceptable to the Cedar Falls
Utilities . Cedar Falls Utilities has proposed moving the utility
line and is requiring the owner to share half of the cost, which is
approximately $4, 600 to $5, 000 .
It was the recommendation of the City Planner that the City of
Waterloo participate in the cost of the project by not charging for
the excess street right-of-way (valued at $1, 800) . In addition,
the remaining $500 to $700 could be charged to the U.S. 218 project
utility relocations account, which has been used to pay other
utility relocations in the corridor. Moved by Anders, seconded by
Mollenhoff that said recommendation be approved. Ayes : Three .
Motion carried.
Moved by Mollenhoff, seconded by Anders that bills payment as
contained in Schedule A918, pp. 1-42, in the amount of
$2, 194, 790 . 17, dated May 2, 1994, with the deletion of Purchase
Voucher 88875 in the amount of $39 . 95, be referred to the City
Council for their approval . Ayes : Three . Motion carried.
With no further business before the committee, it was moved by
Anders, seconded by Mollenhoff that the meeting be adjourned at
