Moved by Welper, seconded by Cole that the Agenda, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Three.
Motion carried.
Moved by Welper, seconded by Cole that the Minutes of September 21, 2009, as proposed, be
approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Welper, seconded by Cole that the request of the Police Chief for authorization to
reimburse $40.00 for criminal history check and fingerprint cards be approved. Ayes: Three.
Motion carried.
Moved by Welper, seconded by Cole that a travel request for Manager of Rehabilitation Services
to attend IAHO Fall Conference in Waterloo, Iowa on October 7-9, 2009, with costs not to
exceed$250.00, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Welper, seconded by Cole that a travel request for Community Development Director
to attend HOME &Neighborhood Stabilization Program in Detroit, Michigan on October 20-22,
2009, with costs not to exceed $1,505.00, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Welper, seconded by Cole that a travel request for Human Rights Director to attend
RECCR 2009 Training Conference in Kansas City, Missouri on October 14-16, 2009, with costs
not to exceed $1,050.00, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
The following bids received for removal of asbestos at 231, 239 and 245 Jackson Street were
reviewed:
Bidder Bid Amount
Advanced Environmental $3,950.00
Affordable Hazards Removal $4,375.00
It was the recommendation of the Contracts and Contracts Coordinator that the low bid in the
amount of$3,950.00 from Advanced Environmental for removal of asbestos at 231, 239 and 245
Jackson Street be accepted. Moved by Welper, seconded by Cole that said recommendation be
approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Welper, seconded by Cole that the request of the Fire Chief to approve bids received
for miscellaneous water rescue equipment be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. (A copy
of the bids is on file in the office of the City Clerk.)
Moved by Welper, seconded by Cole that the request of the Contracts and Grants Coordinator for
authorization for Lehman Trucking to demolition 515 Elm Street at a cost of $9,200.00 be
approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Welper, seconded by Cole that a travel request for two Housing Inspectors and
Coordinator to attend IAHO Conference in Waterloo, Iowa on October 7-9, 2009, with costs not
to exceed$625.00, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Cole, seconded by Welper that the request of the Assistant Leisure Services Director
for pre-authorization to expend $6,000.00 for fertilizer for various parks, city rights of way and
sports facilities be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
Moved by Cole, seconded by Welper that the request of the Leisure Services Director for pre-
authorization to expend $9,413.00 for trees purchased for the Plant Some Shade Project be
approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried.
