Moved by Welper, seconded by Reggie Schmitt that the Minutes of July 6, 2009, as proposed, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Welper, seconded by Cole that the request of the Building Official/Maintenance Administrator for authorization to upgrade Engineering, Planning and Building Departments office areas at a cost of$24,946.00 be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Welper, seconded by Cole that a travel request for Curator and temporary assistant to pick up exhibition in Washington, DC on July 14-18, 2009, with costs not to exceed $1,830.00, be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Cole, seconded by Welper that the request of the Building Official/Maintenance Administrator for pre-authorization to expend $1,829.90 for carpet replacement in the MIS office be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Cole, seconded by Welper that the request of the Building Official/Maintenance Administrator for pre-authorization to expend $3,768.13 for VFD and parts for Byrnes and Gates pools be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Cole, seconded by Welper that the request of the Building Official/Maintenance Administrator for pre-authorization to expend $10,000.00 for parts for system repair of HVAC at Young Arena be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Cole, seconded by Welper that the request of the Fire Chief for pre-authorization to expend $4,125.43 for parts to repair Ambulance 331 be approved. Ayes: Three. Moved by Cole, seconded by Welper that the request of the Director of Cultural & Arts Commission for pre-authorization to expend not to exceed $3,000.00 for shipping Mystical Imagination exhibition to Haiti be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Cole, seconded by Welper that the request of the Director of Cultural & Arts Commission for pre-authorization to expend $1,776.00 for printing catalogue for "Twelve Views of Water"exhibition be approved. Ayes: Three. Motion carried. Moved by Cole, seconded by Welper that the request of Mayor Hurley for pre-authorization to expend $400.00 as city's share of Mayor's Volunteer Awards Luncheon and Top Teen Award Event be approved. Moved by Cole, seconded by Welper that the request of the Superintendent of Central Garage for pre-authorization to expend not to exceed $3,500.00 for repair parts for the street sweeper be approved.
